RONNIE O'CONNOR
28/04/2002
RONNIE HAD 4 CHILDREN AND 2 STEP CHILDREN.
HE HAD 4 BROTHERS AND 1 SISTER.
RONNIE WAS A CENTRE MANAGER IN CASTLEMILK COMMUNITY CENTRE. AND LATERLY HE DROVE BUSES FOR A LIVING.
RONNIE SADLY PASSED IN A CAR ACCIDENT IN THE LAKE DISTRICT
RONNIE WHEN YOU LEFT NOT ONLY DID I LOSE A BROTHER, I LOST SOMEONE WHO WAS PROBABLY MY BEST FRIEND.
PLEASE LOOK DOWN ON US AND PROTECT US ALL FROM UP THERE IN HEAVEN.
GOD MUST HAVE HAD AN IMPORTANT TASK FOR YOU TO PERFORM FOR HIM, MAYBE THATS WHY HE TOOK YOU SO SOON.
ALL I KNOW IS THAT THE WORLD IS A SADDER PLACE WITHOUT YOU.
I MISS YOU MORE THAN I CAN EVER SAY.
MAY GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU TILL WE MEET AGAIN WHICH WE SURELY WILL. XXX
I AM NOT THERE.
DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND WEEP,
I AM NOT THERE I'M JUST ASLEEP.
I'M A THOUSAND WINDS THAT BLOW,
I'M THE DIAMOND GLINT ON SNOW.
I'M THE SUNLIGHT ON THE RIPENED GRAIN,
I'M THE GENTLE BREEZE IN THE AUTUMN RAIN.
WHEN YOU WAKEN IN THE MORNINGS HUSH,
I AM THE SWIFT UPLIFTING RUSH, OF QUIET BIRDS IN CIRCLED FLIGHT,
I'M THE SOFT STARS THAT SHINE SO BRIGHTLY IN THE SKY AT NIGHT .
DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND CRY,
I AM NOT THERE I DID NOT DIE.
WHEN YOU LOSE SOMEONE THAT YOU LOVE
THE PAIN IS HARD TO HIDE.
BUT WHEN YOU LOSE A BROTHER LIKE MINE
IT BREAKS YOU UP INSIDE.
A SMILE CAN HIDE MY SADNESS
A TEAR I CAN WIPE AWAY.
BUT THE PAIN OF LOSING RONNIE
WILL NEVER GO AWAY.

~ Beneath A Lovely Willow Tree ~
Beneath a lovely willow tree
With velvet grass combined
My heart so filled with joyfulness
My love for you defined.
I close my eyes in special dream
I see you standing there
Handing me a special gift
Your beauty I can hear.
As wind is softly blowing
The willow starts to sing
Loves sweet gentle melodies
My heart to you I bring.
Oh willow of my special dreams
My tree of graceful lace
Has given me the joy of you
In memories retraced.

Welcome to a warm place of love and sweet delight,
where all is beautiful..
Come sit with me, all hushed and still,
and fondle roses soft with dew.
Come walk on paths, of fragrant blooms
and hear soft whispers,
gentle words..
Come walk with me in rippling streams,
and hear the song of pretty birds.
Come walk with me, on mountain's tall,
to see the view,
to gaze in awe.
Come walk with me, skip wavelet wash,
find shells upon a sandy shore.
Come walk with me, in shady nooks,
by weeping willow,
babbling brook.
Come walk, where life will pleasure be,
a pathway sweet,
in Jesus peace.
Come walk beyond, where life is sure,
where Jesus is,
with gifts of more.
Come walk, be blessed, in wonder land,
held safely in The Father's hand.
Soft whispers from

Angels are watching over you

Their wings wrap gently around you,
Whispering you are loved and blessed."

Remembrance
By Sian Wilkinson
One lonely red poppy
lay down on the floor,
one lonely red poppy
that no-body saw.
A reef of red poppies
lay down on the floor,
a reef of red poppies
that no-body saw.
A field of red poppies
it's not over yet,
a field of red poppies
to never forget.

Remembrance Sunday
On a cold November Sunday morn, an old man sits a while
Looking though old photographs, he can’t help but smile
They’re all there, all the boys, with hair cut short and neat
Uniforms of khaki, strong black boots upon their feet.
They met as strangers but soon became like brothers to the end
Smiling at the camera, there could be no truer friends.
They all took the Queen’s shilling, went off to fight the hun,
Soon learnt the pain of loss once the fighting had begun.
So many never made it home, lost on foreign shores
Many more were injured and would be the same no more.
The old man’s eyes mist with tears as he remembers every face
Each of his fallen brothers and the killing which took place
He proudly dons his beret, his blazer and his tie
For today he will remember the ones who fell and died.
On his chest there is a poppy, a blaze of scarlet on the blue
He steps out into the cold, he has a duty he must do
Once at the cenotaph he stands amongst the ranks
Of those who marched to war and those who manned the tanks,
He bows his head in reverence, as the last post begins to play
And he wonders what will happen at the ending of his days
Will anyone remember? Will anybody care?
About the lads so far from home whose life was ended there?
I wish that I could tell him, that he should fear not
For this soldier and his brothers will NEVER be forgot
We owe a debt of gratitude that we can never pay
And this country WILL remember them, on each Remembrance day.

Remembrance Day is here again,
On this day we remember all those who were slain.
The ones they left behind have endured much sorrow and pain.
But rest assured,
the whole world knows those brave ones didn't die in vain.
The poppies that you see people wear,
Are there to show you they still care.
We open our hearts so that we can share,
A moment of silence, and offer a prayer.
To all the soldiers who died saving our country.

Flower Of The Eternal Sleep
Flower of the eternal sleep
Watching with the ones who weep
You whose lives, so short in bloom
Saw such bloodshed, death and gloom
You trembled to the sounds of guns
Which tore to death beloved sons
You fluttered, died before your time
Dropped blood red petals in their prime
Crimson poppies ‘neath the clouds
Short lived, yet colourful and proud
Now worn by humans with such pride
Remembering those who bravely died
You represent young lives cut short
Those who, for freedom bravely fought
Flower of eternal sleep
Silently your vigil keep

Sweet, happy memories cling 'round your name.

Goodbyes are not forever
And nor is it the end
When angels come to call away
A loved one or a friend.
The empty place that’s left behind
Within this world we know
Reminds us just how brief a stay
We have before we go.
So when it’s time to bid farewell
To one we’ll dearly miss
Let’s just say we’ll meet again
And promise them with this
The true gift is that love remains
Although we now must part..
Until forever and beyond
I’ll keep you in my heart.

Light the Rocket, send it high,
Spiralling colours across the sky,
Glittery trails of colours bright,
Whistling through the dark of night,
Little coloured Pearls I see,
Zooming silently over me,
Then dissolving, a quick demise,
To disappear before my eyes.
Silver fish, shoot up next,
These really are the best,
Swirling, swimming sliver stars,
Darting from the centre fast,
The Glitter sprouts a huge array,
They fizz, spark, and even spray,
A cascade of golden twinkling dust,
These do see, you really must.
At last, we have the Catherine Wheel,
Hear her whizz, hear her squeal,
Speeding round, with spiral colour,
Until she fades, dull to duller.

Beyond the rainbow’s end, there lies
The land of love and light,
Where shadows never dim the skies,
For there, there is no night.
And though the loss is hard to bear
Of loved one, or of friend,
We know that we shall find them there
Beyond the rainbow’s end.

Halloween fairies
Sleeping through the day
As night time comes
Out they come and play
They don’t need broom sticks
To soar through the sky
They have delicate wings
To carry them way up high
They flitter and flutter
And
Swing On Moonbeams
And
Dance amongst the stars
